Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role involved general business admin, such as greeting clients, answering calls, sending emails, arranging meetings, sorting post, setting up new starters, minuting meetings, distributing paperwork, creating agendas, keeping office equipment organised and in stock, doing invoicing work, ordering personal protective equipment and helping with other general office duties here.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I would say it was overall a good experience I do think that there could have been more involvement from the tutors and that often I did have to ask for more information but this may because they have several students they visit and may have seen me as capable

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt several new skills during my apprenticeship including organisation, people skills, independent working and how to balance work with other commitments such as this course, it has helped my improve on any existing skills I had previously acquired during my career and I believe improved my chances of employment

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The structure I would say is fine, I did a previous apprenticeship when you did a test half way through, I think this way worked better as it didn’t put all the pressure on one big exam but I didn’t find this process to overwhelming and the structure was well explained
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer / manager has provided amazing support, I am able to compare as I did my level 2 a few years ago, my first apprenticeship was not with my current employer and was very difficult indeed, my employer now has given my the time and activities needed to help me learn / pass
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My employer always helped with any issues or I had and also set up situations I may needed in order to completer my portfolio such as the ability to manage others or to organise an event, this has been imperative to my development and ability to achieve during the course
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It has given me a broad range of tasks and knowledge I can take with me in every day work, it has also given me knowledge of my rights as a worker and what is expected from me. I think this is an excellent way to learn whilst gaining experience
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
I can not say but if there are they were not offered / advertised to me, however I did only attend college for one day so not sure that this is necessary, the rest of that learning day for me was used to revise / study, there wasn’t really any down time

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Greater Manchester Combined Authorities to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The company enabled me to achieve a distinction in level 3 business admin, exactly what I aimed to do during my course. Although some processes took longer than expected such as getting set up and not everyone got a name badge etc overall my experience was positive, I would consider another course here
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Greater Manchester Combined Authorities?
I would say that the tutors could use a bit more training and help with time management, I think there is a lot of assumed knowledge but not everyone is at the same level and I believe some of my class mates will have struggled because of this, it also means not every student gets the 1 on 1 time they may need
