Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
On a daily basis I check all the security systems for faults so that would include the cctv, access control and intruder alarm and if any faults have occurred then my job would then be to fix them that day.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I’ve enjoyed the program a lot and am enjoying the work given to me as it’s helped with my attention to detail with the fault finding but the people I’ve worked with have also been a massive help and enjoyable to work with.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
The security systems was a completely new industry for me so I’ve been developing all the technical skills required to fix any fault in the building but also fault finding and figuring out what exactly has stopped working.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The program is well structured every other month I have a week at my college to go through the theory of what I’m learning at work and ensure I’m not missing any technical skills and furthering the ones I’m learning at work
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I received a lot of support my manager always is willing to help me and if there’s any online course that I feel would help me in anyway he’s always happy for me to enrol and have a morning or afternoon completing the course.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training providers support me well when working towards my qualifications always happy to answer any questions and are also happy to give any 1 to 1 sessions after college if I feel I’m struggling with any part of the course.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification I get from my training provider helps lots as it’s just a test of all the skills and knowledge I’ve learnt as well as expanding my knowledge of other systems at the college and during work and this will only help with work on site
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
At my work there’s quarterly socials but my apprentice cohort are close and end up seeing everyone after work on a Thursday but also the company holds a charity football event twice a year which is really enjoyable to be apart of.
