Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Working on the design element of infrastructure projects (roads, carparks, parks, housing developments, schools, active travel routes) from concept and planning stages through to construction. Day to day writing reports, drafting drawings, modelling designs, drainage calculations, collaboration with clients and internal teams.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Overall I think it is a great opportunity to develop as a professional whilst gaining a higher education and being rewarded financially at the same time. It can be intense having to complete a qualification outside of a fulltime job 4 days a week, however the team and company have been supportive throughout.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

There has been opportunities to pick up new skills at every stage of the apprenticeship. Developing social and communication skills from attending regular meetings with internal team members and external clients etc., technical knowledge and skills from completing tasks and being challenged with new experiences often.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Overall it has been a good experience, however there have been periods of uncertainty and it's been difficult to find the people who have the clear answers regarding the process and next steps.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

The employer has generally been supportive throughout the process accommodating training hours on the job and study leave when required.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

It has given an overview of the industry with some general information, however, I have not covered anything in the qualification which is relevant to the specifics of my role.
