Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
In my role as Apprenticeship Programme Lead , I am responsible for overseeing the delivery and quality assurance of apprenticeship programmes within our organisation. This involves coordinating with assessors, tutors, and employers to ensure that learners are progressing effectively and receiving the support they need.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy my programme and find it both rewarding and engaging. It allows me to apply my learning directly to my role, which has been valuable in developing my leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
I particularly enjoy the balance of theory and practical application, and the opportunity to reflect on my current practices and identify areas for improvement. The programme has also helped me grow in confidence when making decisions, leading teams, and managing complex challenges within the apprenticeship provision.
While it can be demanding alongside a busy workload, I feel well-supported and motivated by the relevance of the content to my day-to-day responsibilities and long-term career goals.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, over the past few months I’ve developed several existing skills and gained new ones as part of my ongoing professional development.
I’ve continued to build on my leadership and coaching skills, particularly through supporting team members with performance and development plans. This has included providing structured feedback, holding regular one-to-one meetings, and helping individuals set and work toward clear objectives.
I’ve also strengthened my data analysis and reporting skills, particularly in using learner progress data and KPI tracking to inform decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
Additionally, I’ve had opportunities to enhance my communication and stakeholder management skills—especially through increased collaboration with employers, functional skills tutors, and senior leaders to ensure alignment and quality across apprenticeship delivery.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Overall, the programme is well-organised and clearly structured, with a good balance of scheduled teaching sessions, independent study, and opportunities for practical application. The learning materials are accessible, and the modules follow a logical sequence that builds on previous knowledge and skills.
Communication from tutors and support staff has been consistent, and key dates and expectations are made clear from the outset. Regular check-ins, progress reviews, and timely feedback have helped keep me on track and supported throughout the programme.
There is also flexibility built in, which has been helpful in managing the programme alongside work commitments.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a good level of support from my employer, which has made a positive difference in managing my apprenticeship alongside my role. I’ve been given protected time for study, and my manager [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is understanding and flexible when it comes to balancing work priorities with programme deadlines.
There is also encouragement to apply my learning in real work scenarios, which helps reinforce the content and makes it more meaningful. Regular check-ins and opportunities to discuss my progress and development goals have been valuable, and I feel that my employer is genuinely invested in my success.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a strong level of support from my training provider, which has been really helpful throughout the programme. Tutors are knowledgeable, approachable, and responsive, providing timely feedback and clear guidance on assignments and expectations.
There is a good structure of regular progress reviews, workshops, and one-to-one support sessions, which help to keep me on track and give me opportunities to ask questions or raise any concerns.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification has been highly beneficial in helping me perform better in my role. It has given me a deeper understanding of key leadership and management principles, which I’ve been able to apply directly to my day-to-day responsibilities.
Topics such as strategic planning, effective communication, performance management, and data-driven decision-making have all enhanced my confidence and effectiveness as a leader.
The structure of the programme encourages reflection and continuous improvement, which has helped me to identify areas where I can grow and implement positive changes in how I lead and support my team.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there are a number of extra-curricular opportunities available at work. These include both social and professional development activities. For example, we regularly take part in national campaigns such as National Apprenticeship Week and have access to personal development initiatives like the Personal Development Pledge, which supports enrichment through career development, cultural awareness, sustainability, and community involvement.
