Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Supervising children, providing various activities which incorporate the areas of development, work shadowing qualified staff, dishing and serving meals/snacks, up keeping cleanliness and safety of the environment
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme as I gain both experience and academic knowledge throughout. I am continuously supported by other staff members at my centre and receive feedback from them which is very helpful.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed my communication skills through using both verbal and non-verbal methods to communicate with children as I learned that they don’t always communicate verbally. I have also developed my leadership skills when leading activities and compassion when caring for the children at my centre.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is well structured as I am currently working through assessments, professional discussions and progress reviews which also involve scheduled online sessions. I will then continue on to the gateway to my end-point-assessment, involving an observation and professional discussion, which I will then complete afterwards.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from my employer as both my line manager and other staff members are open to any questions I may have regarding my day-to-day role or assignments. They regularly provide feedback on my practice, allowing me to improve within.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive support from my development coach through progress reviews, whereby we discuss my learning journey and I am able to share if I need any other support. I am also able to contact my development coach to discuss any questions I may have.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification provides me with the knowledge which underlies the work that I am doing, allowing me to better understand the development of children, statutory frameworks/laws and how to provide quality care and education.

Why?
Busy Bees Childcare has an independent curriculum with qualified staff members delivering it. This curriculum aims to give children the best start in life. Busy Bees also has their own training programs, such as the Early Years apprenticeship that I am completing, allowing learners to gain both experience and knowledge.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Busy Bees Childcare?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions when you are unsure about anything relating to your role, duties or assignments!
