Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I work on Technology, helping to support the Bank's financial systems by providing support to business users and implemeting changes to improve processes.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
The culture of the Bank is amazing, and so are it's people. It's a pleasure going into the office.
The work I've been doing has a direct impact on many people, which makes you feel valued.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Really developed my organisational skills and networking skills, as well as many technical skills such as SQL, and general automation.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The program is really well structured, and teams/people are used to apprentices, so are able to provide great support if needed.
One area of improvement could be introducing rotations between areas of technology, as this would provide a greater flexibility and more diverse experience for us.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
A lot, there are many support structures in place - directly from future talent, from the Bank's employee support schemes, from you team members/line managers. Most importantly, all of these work really well, and everyone is willing and able to help you.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
You have a mentor who you can contact anytime about anything. The lecturers are also very reachable to contant regarding any module questions you may have. You can also access the general university support methods.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Not all modules relate to my specialism in the work place, but that's good because it means that I am still getting training on many areas of technology, helping me build a wider range of technical skills
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Plenty, there are societies and clubs for all sort of sports and hobbies. Most if not all of the activities and events organised are subsidised by the Bank, which makes it really easy to attend as many events as you want.
