Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I provide support and maintain some of the most critical financial systems in our economy, as well as developing new automation ideas.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
There is great work life balance and flexibility.
Top 3 things would be:
1. You are given the necessary time you required to complete your studies alongside your day job.
2. The culture is extremely friendly - everyone is willing to help and collaborate.
3. The benefits package allows you to have up to 38 days of holiday a year!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I've learnt and developed many technical skills through my job, but most importantly I have developed soft skills and learnt to navigate a corporate environment.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The program is exactly what you sign up for, and you are given the flexibility of specialising in any of the specialisms available. However, at the moment there are no rotations between departments, which means if you'd like to specialise in an area different to your job role you will have to actively look for those opportunities.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
All types of support are provided by the Bank, ranging from emotional to financial when you have to travel for University residentials.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
In addition to the university's support infrastructure, you are assigned a mentor at the beginning of your course and can go to them for all kinds of things.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are too many options to choose from! The Bank has societies/clubs for all sports and niches you could think of. And as a plus, most of these events are subsidised.
Once a year, there are competitions between European central banks in a range of sports that are held internationally which you can sign up for.
