Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am the quality improvement co-ordinator responsible for representing technical on major and minor projects. I create and amend HACCPs resulting from these projects. Organise and run production trails for ingredients and packaging. Plus I am responsible for managing the pest control contract, delivering improvements and audit compliance.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

It has been very enjoyable the lecturers are great and really helpful. The university is really beautiful and in a lovely location.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have gained confidence in dealing with situations and the pressures of new challenges. I have developed research and problem solving skills. Plus gained a wider knowledge base of the wider food industry.

It is well run and organised with taught weeks planned out in advance.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Work have to been very supportive allowing me time to study weekly.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The university has been very supportive and made arrangements for additional learning support throughout the apprenticeship. Plus lecturers and library staff are always willing to provide advice and support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

As mentioned earlier it has helped to increase my confidence, and I know write more detailed and structured reports. I also have the skills to investigate and find alternative solutions which I can bring to different situations.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes there are many volunteering opportunities, well being support groups and some sport activities.
