Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My roles include assisting the team in Health Sandwell to promote healthy lifestyle choices to members of the public. I am required to handle E-mails, phone calls, face to face contact and much more to have conversations relating to public health, also using systems to refer individuals.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy the programme very much the people I have met along the way have been very supportive and amazing to get to know. I believe tis programme will allow me to create a future in Sandwell council, something that I am very eager to be put in place.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I believe my skills in my locker have been developed massively over the duration of this apprenticeship. My communication skills have improved massively, alongside my IT skills. With the required use of systems to input data, I have thankfully become very knowledgeable on the subject.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is very well structured, I have constant communication with my training provider. As a result I am kept up to date with any rescheduling taking place. I also am very comfortable discussing with my team the work I need to complete to assist with my coursework.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employers are very compassionate and understanding they support me when ever I am in need of it. I see them as not just colleagues but friends. They always push me to reach for the stars and with their constant support I am able to.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
My training provider supports me whenever I require it all I have to do is E-mail and the support will be there. However, sometimes the working hours clash as my assessor doesn't work Fridays which makes it hard to contact on that day.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I believe the support and coursework my training provider gives to me helps massively with my performance in a positive way. It allows me a chance to read over notebooks of clear definitions and details of how to be a distinguished customer service practitioner.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Staff have access to staff sporting sessions such as badminton, football, table tennis, Pilates and book club. There is an intranet page which details these activities. Staff also have access to the Hobby Health app which aims to provide information on hobby groups available within the council and link up staff with similar interests. There is a physical Wellbeing Hub in the council house, plus a My Wellbeing intranet page with details of support available.

Yes

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Sandwell Council?
To enjoy the journey as applying may seem daunting at first but the job, the people you meet and the person you'll become after the apprenticeship will make it worth it.
