Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Within my role most of my time is dedicated to analysing verbatim data and finding identifiable categories on customer pain points. I also helped create a dashboard for dealerships across the Renault network to access and evaluate their customer experience performance. Beyond this I have also helped create reports to measure performance across many other areas. Many of my daily interactions are within my team and the area teams to suggest areas to improve CX performance. I have also taken parts in events to engage with dealerships to help engage them with CX.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
At the start of the apprenticeship I really enjoyed the programme as I was constantly learning new skills and ideas. The programme has helped me to become accustomed to a professional setting and work as part of a team to solve issues. However as I learnt more and became more competent with tools, I felt a bit constrained in applying these tools in the workplace as I often did not have permission. Also some of the workshops taken I feel was a bit basic and did not reflect my competency with the tools/programs.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt many new types of skills throughout the apprenticeship, both technical and interpersonal. The technical skills I have learnt are skills in specific programs and languages such as Excel, Power BI, R and Python. Though I cannot use all these tools within my role they have definitely helped improve my understanding of data and analysis. I have also greatly developed my interpersonal skills by interacting with a whole range of stakeholders in a professional setting.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Generally, I thought the programme was well structured however there were some issues with the organisation. Namely the beginning of the apprenticeship was extremely long and tedious, especially as I had already completed my functional skills requirement. The direction at the time was also limited as it was before I had received my data coach, meaning I had to rely on my own personal resources. Additionally towards the end of the programme it has been a bit more hectic as there is an increased pressure to complete my portfolio quickly. This was never communicated to me prior and the timeframes for completing my portfolio and moving to the end point assessment was also not communicated properly.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive much support from my employer and my team. My manager is very supportive and understanding of my apprenticeship needs. They help to ensure I have sufficient time to complete my apprenticeship requirements. Though some more support could be provided in allowing me to use different tools within the workplace, I felt that generally I received good support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
My training provider has generally provided good support in achieving my qualification. They have helped structure workshops to help me learn the skills necessary to become a better data technician. They have also been understanding if I was not able to meet a workshop and arranged another workshop for me to attend in a prompt timeframe. Some more support could have been provided for the portfolio guidance, namely distinguishing what is needed for the portfolio in detail and the different criteria to achieve distinction and merit. Otherwise the provider has been very supportive.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel that the qualification has really helped me to perform better within my role. The skills I learnt in Excel and Power BI have greatly helped me develop visualisations and reports that are robust and can be easily understood. Furthermore, my understanding of data has improved which has helped me to understand discussions on data pipelines and to identify where there might have an issue with a customer receiving a survey.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are multiple different extra-curricular activities to get involved within the workplace. There are a healthy group of graduates, interns and apprentices that meet after work occasionally or go out for social activities. There are also group lunches that happen sometimes and even a summer party to celebrate the success of the company.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Renault to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Renault has been a great company to work for and learn from. They are greatly supportive and understanding. Furthermore the sheer scale of their operations means that you have plenty of opportunity to learn and develop across a wide range of areas. The people at Renault are also greatly supportive and understanding. Though sometimes the corporate rules can be slightly annoying, Renault is an amazing company to work for that nurtures employees to become an indispensable part of the group.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Renault?
If others want to apply to Renault I would suggest to reach out the HR department directly. They can help guide applicants and even suggest roles that are currently available in the company. There are plenty of opportunities from early careers to those more experienced and looking for a new role. You could also contact past or current employees that used to have the role you would like to go for.
