Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Supporting a large scale ICT hardware roll-out, imaging SMBC laptops and desktops, assisting with ICT equipment installations, provide customer support via Teams / Phone or face to face, troubleshooting, installing and updating applications and keeping the software library up to date.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am enjoying completing the necessary tasks to help users in the council to resolve issues they encounter, and doing physical tasks such as installing and updating hardware.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I've learned how to effectively troubleshoot, navigate group policies, active directory and sccm, command line scripting, how to update professional documents.
My communication skills via email and in person have improved.
I've learned more technical skills such as command line scripting, group policies and permissions, Windows updates, and app deployment.

I am given ample support when asked and learn enough to do what's needed. Usually have no issues getting help when needed.

Knowledge for the course is really useful, a lot of the content to begin with hasn't been always directly related to my role but I have been given the extra support needed to apply it.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Usually drinks outings or activities within the council building like table tennis.
