Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role includes the planning and strategic delivery of HR strategies across the business, employee engagement and organisational culture are instrumental in underpinning the business KPIs as well as the people management overall within the business. Daily I will liaise with corporate stakeholders to drive programs and initiatives for improving the workplace.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I find the Level 7 HR degree extremely interesting, the amount of wider reading and research across this field is overwhelming however insightful! a turning point for me on the program has been the understanding that Level 7 can truly turn a job into a career and HR is certainly a field for life.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt the value of time management personally and the benefit to empowering teams with knowledge to build a team of highly skilled employees. This benefits the business however also benefits myself and my time to be able to equip management teams with the resources they need to successfully complete their role with my guidance.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Crosby do a sensational job at managing the programme, the support from my coach is phenomenal and i couldn't ask for a better tutor, the time she takes to spend 1-1 to support my learning or even to explain further if I may struggle with certain elements within the group learning.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer affords me the time to complete my learning within my working hours, however i personally feel more value in completing this when i am at home with a nice cup of tea after work! (this is personal preference i have shared with my manager and she is reluctantly happy that i make it work for me and personal development)
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The support from Crosby is fantastic, Lesley Ann goes above and beyond to ensure the programme is self paced and i am balancing my workload alongside my training, [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] provides 1-1 support, email communications weekly and group learning workshops which are so insightful to see the wider HR field in other organisations
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The empowerment it provides me support my role, through my knowledge and transferring this into skills i apply within work, increasing my stakeholder engagements and continually learning from every interaction i have. the Level 7 course allows you to be noticed and recognised as someone who has devoted a lot of time and energy into a specific field.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Our workplace doesn't really have an extra activities to participate in, McDonalds is run very close to the bottom line so culture is more developed in house and extra curricular is something that can be supplied through my training provider, my wider research or personally, so i will take my team out for events to ensure we can bond as a team and work together better.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend McDonald's to a friend?
Yes
Why?
McDonalds has allowed me to progress to my current level, starting as a crew member and in 10 years i now run the HR Team for a workforce of 700 employees, this is something i will truly be grateful for. The education you are provided is fantastic and the opportunities to progress alongside strong pay is Definity a positive.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to McDonald's?
I think the best tips i would provide is to stay curious all the time, always question and ask why to help you learn and be sure to speak up for yourself! Its important you work in an environment that values your voice and your opinion and lastly... enjoy every minute!
