My role involves caring for children, supporting their development, planning and leading engaging activities, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment every day.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my programme as it allows me to work closely with children, support their development, and learn practical skills in a real nursery setting. It’s rewarding to see the positive impact I can have on their learning and confidence
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, I’ve developed my communication and teamwork skills, especially when working with children and colleagues. I’ve also improved my ability to plan engaging activities and gained more confidence in managing behaviour and following safeguarding procedures.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is not well organised, as every month I receive tasks without any guidance or support. (I’ve never received a PDF or a lesson to support my studies). I’ve had to do all the research on my own
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive very little support from my employer. The only person who has been consistently supportive is my Deputy Manager.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive very little support from my training provider when working towards my qualifications. My tutor didn’t send me any emails or communication, even in the days leading up to the EPA. My manager was the one who informed me of the exam date.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel that my qualification through the training provider has been helpful, particularly the information I gained regarding safeguarding and child development. This knowledge will significantly help me perform better in my role.

The people working there are motivated and passionate, and with the right management support, they could achieve even more.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Busy Bees Childcare?
Based on my experience, I would advise others applying to Busy Bees Childcare to be prepared to do everything on their own. Since the tutor doesn't provide much support, you will need to take the initiative to study and research independently.
