Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I work with stakeholders to identify needs, shape requirements and improve business processes. I translate the ideas and requirements into actionable plans to help teams deliver user-focused solutions that offer the value intended. I support with project delivery, business readiness, risk management and user acceptance testing.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoyed my programme, the knowledge received was invaluable and I 100% believe that it was because of the knowledge and skills obtained that I have the confidence in my role now to perform. It was definitely tough and challenging at times, but the structure and modules were so valuable to my role and really helped me in picking up these skills.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, prior to the programme I didn't have any experience in the tools and techniques, the apprenticeship allowed me to learn the theory and also put it in to practice within training sessions, and then apply to my job and understand the value that the technique brings.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
There is a lot of support at CBS - the training provider were very organised providing weekly modules to work on for my portfolio, regular check-ins, lots of support from other BAs and managers, and our talent development team. There are networks at CBS where apprentices can get together to discuss and receive any support.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have been so supported by CBS, the talent & development team regularly check in and hold calls to see if any support can be provided, I was given the support of a buddy who also attended check ins with me with the training provider. There was endless support for me at CBS.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Regular feedback from QA, a mock interview was provided to support me in assessments, the training courses were fantastic and gave me opportunities to discuss ideas with other students and offered in depth training on the tools and techniques.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I completely credit my apprenticeship for providing me with the opportunity to learn and apply knowledge and skills that are fundamental to my job role. I joined as a complete beginner to business analysis, and in the beginning lacked structure on what to start learning and how to apply my learning - the apprenticeship gave me this structure, including feedback on my application and how I could improve.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are annual award ceremonies to celebrate apprentices which also provides great networking opportunities, on internal social media pages there are pages dedicated to apprenticeships to allow networking and offer support, and events around apprenticeship week.
