Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

In my role, I develop data-driven solutions to business problems using machine learning, advanced analytics, and causal inference. I work end-to-end from scoping problems and engaging stakeholders to building models, deploying solutions, and generating actionable insights. My work spans exploratory analysis, feature engineering, pipeline automation considerations and continuous model monitoring, all while ensuring strong communication, documentation, and governance alongside other members of the Data Science team.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the solid foundations it builds upon in Data Science and the more nuanced aspects of an ever changing landscape of libraries and technologies, this coupled with the lectures and group discussions has been highly enjoyable and highlights the need for networking within the space.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I’ve developed stronger skills in data science and machine learning, including model development, feature engineering, and causal analysis. I’m more experienced in programming with Python and building data pipelines, and deploying models into production.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Generally the programme has been well structured with a steady cadence and manageable step up in learning from simple to more complex ideas, though it has sometimes felt the lectures themselves could sometimes be longer or potentially run over to allow for more detailed discussion.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive sufficient support from my employer and as other members of my team are on the course it creates a good space for discussion.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Great support has been provided by both my non-technical mentor and technical mentor, with fairly frequent check ins and open discussion and about any potential issues or technical questions.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification will provide a strong foundation in key data science concepts, tools, and best practices, which will help me approach problems more systematically and confidently in my role. Made more me confident in practical skills like model evaluation, coding standards, and stakeholder communication that I apply daily. While real-world experience continues to deepen my learning, the training is giving me a solid launchpad to perform more effectively and grow in my career.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are many community driven events from more social like events to book clubs that discuss topics directly related to my work.
