Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work as a Data and Systems Analyst, primarily supporting the Treasury team to improve operational efficiency. My role involves analyzing data, creating meaningful visualizations that tell a story, and building automation solutions and data pipelines to streamline processes.
I also assist with system architecture design, helping to ensure that the applications and processes we use are scalable and efficient. Additionally, I develop web applications using Python (Flask), HTML, and CSS, making it easier for the Treasury team to interact with and understand their data.
Overall, my focus is on driving efficiency, providing insights through data, and building reliable systems that help the Treasury team make informed decisions.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Overall, the experience has been positive. I have received strong support from my data mentor, coach, and manager at work, which has helped me balance learning with applying new skills on the job. The programme has provided valuable knowledge and real-world applications, making the learning experience both challenging and rewarding.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, I have been expanding my knowledge of treasury operations, which has helped me better understand the processes and challenges the team faces. I have also been developing my skills in AI and machine learning, creating models to support the team, particularly in areas like cash management and cash forecasting. This has allowed me to build smarter tools that improve accuracy and efficiency in decision-making.

The programme is very well-organized and structured. The learning materials, assignments, and support sessions are clearly planned out, making it easier to stay on track and balance my studies with my work responsibilities.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a great deal of support from my employer. My manager [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] has been especially supportive, guiding me through my journey and providing regular feedback. I also get strong support from my team, as well as from the HR and Apprenticeship team at Pearson, which has made a big difference in helping me balance my apprenticeship with my work.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive a lot of support from my training provider. We have weekly check-ins and regular progress reviews, which help me stay on track and give me the opportunity to ask questions, get feedback, and continuously improve.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification has been very helpful in improving my performance at work. It has strengthened my understanding of AI, machine learning, and data analysis, which I can apply directly to my projects. The skills and knowledge I’m gaining allow me to build smarter solutions, improve processes, and add more value to the Treasury team.
