I As a BI Developer, I design and maintain data analytics platforms and reporting tools to turn raw data into useful insights. On a typical day, I develop dashboards and reports, manage data models and databases, oversee ETL processes, and work with stakeholders to understand their data needs. I also troubleshoot issues, ensure data integrity, and provide user support and training. I need a mix of technical skills, like SQL and data visualization, and soft skills, like communication and problem-solving, to get the job done right.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoyed the masters course in computer science. It was challenging but incredibly rewarding. I loved diving deep into programming, machine learning, and cybersecurity. The hands-on projects and collaboration with classmates made learning fun and engaging. Plus, the professors were always supportive and knowledgeable, which made a huge difference. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that has significantly boosted my skills and confidence.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Doing a masters in computer science has helped me develop a bunch of valuable skills. I have gotten better at programming, understanding data structures and algorithms, and building software. I have also learned about machine learning, AI, cybersecurity, and database management. On top of that, I have honed my critical thinking, data analysis, communication, and project management skills. Plus, I have gained experience in research, like conducting literature reviews and experiments.

They offered a range of resources despite being online only, including access to online materials, and regular check-ins to track my progress. The instructors were always available to answer questions and provide guidance, which made a big difference in my understanding of the material. Additionally, they organized slack channels that helped me connect with other students and learn collaboratively. Overall, their support was instrumental in helping me succeed in the program.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification through the training provider has helped me perform better in my role, While the advanced knowledge and skills have been useful, I found that some of the concepts were theoretical so was hard to transfer to practice work. The practical experience and hands-on projects were particularly valuable, allowing me to apply what I learned directly to my work. Additionally, the support and resources provided by the training provider helped me stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, making me more effective and confident in my role.

Yes, there are several extra-curricular activities to get involved in at my work. We have a variety of social activities, including team-building events, theatre shows and casual get-togethers. There are also sports teams for those interested in activities like soccer, volleyball, and running. Additionally, we have professional networking events, such as industry meetups, workshops, and seminars, which are great for connecting with colleagues and expanding our professional networks.
