Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Work-wise expect to shadow your trainee buddy and supervisor on calls and meetings or even court hearings. Drafting or proofreading contracts are standard, as are general/legal research tasks.
Great socials, fun group case study exercise, and chances to get to know each practice area as well. You are also assigned a partner coffee chat.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Very exciting. Since you get to experience two departments in the summer, I was able to see how different a potential career in law could look like depending on the area.

Definitely. One is for sure managing your time, as you need to manage your work, socials, and case study group exercise.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Very friendly, collaborative, and flexible. Everyone was respectful of each others’ time, and the culture is very open from trainee to partner level. I felt comfortable speaking to anyone or asking anyone my burning questions.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
Extremely so. It was an enjoyable experience since I got to have fun through socializing at the group exercises and social, and also get to know what my future career could look like, which was very exciting.

Definitely research Simmons well. They’re a really special firm with a unique strategy and different culture to other firms.
