Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is within the Polices IT and Digital department helping out with IT Support to the Police officers and staff, this includes, dealing with incidents and requests, delivering services and aiding with IT issues and IT Customer services, to ensure the IT Systems run efficiently for the force.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme very much and enjoy the standard on which I am on, I also enjoy the learning aspect with my Course provider TDM

Yes I've learnt, honed and developed many skills, both IT Technical, non technical and soft skills
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The College side of things is very good and well structured, the apprenticeship is very hands on and real world learning based which is very good and prepares you for the real world and real life scenarios
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I feel I am very supported and know I can turn to my manager and employer as and when I need to, there is always room for improvement of course however this is the case almost everywhere you go, so i would say the support I receive is great
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My Training provider is excellent and they go above and beyond in order to help and support me on my course, they take the necessary steps to keep me on track and are always available to help. Their framework is very good and beneficial as it allows you to move at a pace you're comfortable at.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Alongside my real world and hands on experience and skills I feel the qualification and the learning aspect of it is helping to understand the technical and deeper knowledge of the IT Queries and issues I deal with.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are quite a few, I however do not participate due to commitments outside of work, but there are many opportunities and options for activities.

Would you recommend West Midlands Police to a friend?
Yes
Why?
For a number of reasons, for the knowledge, skills and technical side of things but for me it's also the feeling that you're contributing positively to society and giving back in some way as the police help the public in a number of aspects.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to West Midlands Police?
Everyone's journey is different, however make sure the role and job is the right fit for you and you enjoy it, be kind, friendly and work hard, but also take things at your pace and do your best and within the police it's really like a big family, so support is always found for those who seek it.
