Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I currently sit in the loan security team within affordable housing. Day to day this involves completing market research, organising inspections, changing client data into our format, adding assumptions to our cashflow, writing reports and terms of engagements and creating research and inspection samples. The majority of these tasks are completed with Excel.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy the programme, I am surrounded by many graduates who started at a similar time to me, so I have a nice big peer group.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed my interpersonal skills and I have developed formal writing and Microsoft Office skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The programme is well structured and we are well informed. However I am only halfway through my first rotation so I don't yet know how smooth the handover process is.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
We are well supported by the Early Careers Team and senior members within our teams as well as our peers.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
We receive a lot of support for our APC. We receive mentors from APC success to guide us through, and we are easily put in touch with older graduates/ recently qualified surveyors who can offer advice. UCEM also provide lots of support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
Its not yet proven that relevant, but its been interesting to learn about the built environment as a whole.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, we have lots of sports teams.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend JLL to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The support is really great and the company is so large that you can try lots of different teams.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to JLL?
Speak to as many people as you can ahead of the interviews to get well-rounded advice. All knowledge is valuable. I would also do plenty of research on the company to prove your interest.
