Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I was based in the Development Consultancy team within Capital Markets. Here I gained valuable insight into the commercial real estate industry.
I worked alongside experienced surveyors on live projects where I supported a range of projects through the preparation of reports, financial viability appraisals and client-focused pitch presentations.
Coordinated my group's end-of-internship presentation on 'The Future of Office Space', delivering it to an audience of fellow interns and JLL colleagues and prompting engaged questions and positive feedback from the room.
The internship strengthened my analytical, communication and teamwork skills while confirming my interest in pursuing a career in commercial real estate.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, more than I anticipated! I was involved in putting together pitch presentations that would then be used in front of potential clients along with doing live market research for other projects and helping with financial viability data sets.

Lots! We were allocated to a buddy from day one who was a grad themselves to get advice from, and my team and the careers team were so approachable throughout to offer support.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Great! I had many a coffee chat with people from different teams and they were so willing and lovely to give up their time to chat about what they do. The big office move midway through was so fun and provided many different opportunities to network.

What advice would you give to others applying to JLL

Put yourself out there, be enthusiastic and extroverted. Everyone is lovely and willing to chat with you so make the most of that. Incorporate their company values in applications and in how you present yourself too.
