Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As an Area Trainer at Bupa, I am responsible for delivering engaging and effective training across multiple care homes within my region, ensuring all staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to provide the highest standard of care. My role involves facilitating induction sessions for new starters, delivering mandatory and specialist training, and supporting ongoing professional development. I work closely with managers to identify training needs, tailor learning approaches to suit different roles and learning styles, and ensure compliance with CQC regulations. I also play a key part in coaching team members and fostering a positive learning culture, and continuously improving training materials to reflect current best practices and organisational values.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am really enjoying my Level 5 Learning and Development Business Consultancy programme, as it is giving me the opportunity to deepen my understanding of how learning and development supports the wider business strategy. The content is highly relevant to my role, and I have found it both challenging and rewarding. It's helping me to think more strategically, develop stronger consultancy skills, and apply theory directly to real-life situations within Bupa. I also enjoy the balance of independent study, practical application, and group learning, which keeps the programme engaging and varied. Overall, it's been valuable and enjoyable experience that's enhancing both my confidence and capability as an L&D professional.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme delivered by lifetime training is really well structured and organised, which has made balancing study with full time work much more manageable. Each module is clearly outlined with a realistic deadline and the progression of topics feels logical and relevant to my day to day role and responsibilities. The resources provided are clear, easy to access, and practical, helping me apply what I am learning directly in my role. I also appreciate the regular support from my lifetime coach who I can message anytime for guidance. Overall the structure and support from Lifetime Training has made the learning experience so far smooth, engaging and effective.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have received a high level of support from Bupa throughout my apprenticeship so far. This has made a real difference to my journey. My manager and wider team are very supportive when it comes to my study time, and they actively encourage my development by allowing me protected time to focus on coursework and assignments. They also give me opportunities for further professional development by allowing me to do the role of a Learning Manager to enhance my knowledge and give me opportunities to apply what I have learned in real world situations. This helps to reinforce the training that I am doing and makes it more meaningful. Bupa's culture of learning and development has really supported my growth, and I feel valued and encouraged as both an employee and a learner.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have access to message my lifetime coach whenever I need it to answer questions, provide feedback and offer support and guidance. We also do regular review meetings to make sure I am on track with my learning and on my dashboard I can see an overview of my learning and where I am at in my apprenticeship. Lifetime have been great and they play a big role in my success so far!
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The content is directly relative towards my role but also further professional development within Learning and Development. It has made me more confident and has better equipped me with the skills I need to be even better in my role. It is massively benefiting my role on a day to day basis.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
As a team we get together for social activities before a team meeting and we have the opportunity to join virtual teams but as I primarily am field based I don't have an office space I regularly commute to so perhaps don't have the same opportunities as others.
