Finance & Governance Placement Student Review

In my first team I was responsible for certain aspects of the quarterly reporting cycles as well as helping build create the AR&A which was very rewarding. Many responsibilities in this team, dealt with many internal and external colleagues. Second team I helped with the risk management within the groups functions. This had me dealing with only internal employees working on longer term projects for the team as well as helping review papers for our risk committees

In my first team I was given an incredible amount of responsibility. I was able to manage an important reporting process mostly by myself (slight help from line manager when stuff out of the ordinary happened). I was also fully responsible for quite a few line items in the balance sheet when it came to explaining movements and writing about them in the AR&A. In the second team the responsibility was more focused on how I would manage multiple askes at the same time. While I am still in this team my responsibilities are going consistently

Massively improved my communication, time management, and stakeholder management skills. Massive improvements in my confidence to interact with anyone of any background or seniority

Both line managers I had during my placement were incredible. I couldn't have asked for more guidance and support if I tried. Not to mention the help that I also received from the Early Careers team who where always there in my corner whenever I needed. In both teams too, the wider team where always happy and willing to assist me in anyways that they could. I really felt like part of the team

Bupa has a wonderful culture. It is so hard to put it into words other then - Everyone is so friendly, from my point of view there was never any judgement or malice. Even as a placement student I felt I had equal opportunities and wasn't looked down on by anyone. Bupa always has events on that brings everyone together

This has been the best experience I could've asked for, I have made so many connections and friends that I hope will last a lifetime. Not once have I regretted my choice to join Bupa. I actively encourage everyone to apply it is an experience like no other
