Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
For my current rotation, I am currently working as a repack planner for the nutrition category. The majority of my time is spent managing display requests from customers and delivering these projects on time. These displays contain a range of products that are organised in a certain way and sold in supermarkets. This involves gathering the relevant information from the customer teams, looking at the feasibility of the project and then delivering it which involves communication with multiple teams to ensure packaging is ordered and delivered on time, ensuring the displays are correctly set up in the system and produced to the correct quantity on time.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy my program very much as it allows me to work across various different teams, which has enabled me to develop a large range of skills and has exposed me to a variety of different roles and situations which has helped me understand what I want to do next in my career.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
This role requires a lot of focus on project & stakeholder management to ensure that everything is executed as initially planned. These are skills I have been able to develop within this role and has enabled me to deliver multiple projects successfully. Other key skills I have been able to develop are time management, organisation and responsibility.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
There is a clear structure in place which enables apprentices to rotate into different roles every 6 to 12 months. There is communication in place so that apprentices know when they can expect to rotate, however this could be better by providing clear dates for clarity. The structure of the apprentice also means that apprentices don't have a great amount of say in what role they would like to go into.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
The support from Unilever has been key in my journey, enabling me to settle within my different roles quickly. Everyone at Unilever is willing to help which makes it easy for apprentices to understand their responsibilities. The time off needed for studies is also respected, which makes it easy to separate work and studies.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider has offered a number of resources from the start of my apprenticeship to now which has enabled me to work towards my qualification whilst simultaneously executing my work responsibilities to a high level. It is easy to reach out for support, and regular catch-ups ensure that everybody is on track to complete their qualification.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I have been able to learn a lot from my qualification which I have been able to apply in my day-to-day role. The sessions delivered by my training provide a good mix of information and application, which allows me to apply it when necessary. There is some overlap between the various modules as well, which has enabled me to strengthen my knowledge further.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are regular team events that take place which allows for networking and unwinding which are often good fun. There is also the opportunity to sign up for various social activities, such as the yearly great walk which provides a great opportunity to meet new people and raise money for charity.
