Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is in the drawing office creating diagrams on CAD, REVIT, which i use to create diagrams for the foundations of overhead line towers, these are on different projects around the united kingdom. I work within a team to produce these drawings and make sure they are a high standard.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Since starting with Balfour Beatty, I have really enjoy my apprenticeship so far. I have made very good progression since joining the company, it has enabled me to improve my skills and knowledge on REVIT.
Also, i have learnt a lot since joining the construction industry and have become valuable to the company.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have improved my IT skills since the start of my apprenticeship, mainly using computer aided design and my overall skills using Excel, word, PDF. Also, when i am at college i use CAD, which has led me to further develop my skills and also my knowledge on construction topics.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programmed is very well organized with a daily work routine and including my college day which is on a friday, there is a weekly call within the team that i am in which is used to sort out any issues and also for my line manager to sort out that i have got work for the projects.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a great amount of support whenever i am in need of help, there is weekly calls within the team which allows me to bring up any issues i am having but i also have calls with other members to sort any issues and make sure that the standards of the work is high.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive a lot of support from my training provider, there is a review meeting every couple months and i have a in person review with my training provider every 6 months with my line manager to check my progress at college and at work and make sure there are no issues.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

At college i have learnt and developed my skills on REVIT even further through completing assignments and assessments using CAD. This links to my job role and therefore has enabled me to become more used to and advanced with the software, also i have learnt a lot about construction topics, such as health and safety which also links to my role and to all in the construction industry.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There is loads of events that are held for networking and getting to know others within the company, this would include trips away such as a residential to the lake district which is being held. Also, there was events around Christmas which was also great for networking and improving relationships with colleagues

Why?
It is a great company and i have been able to settle in very easily, they offer a great amount of support and i have been able to have a great amount of progression since joining and i have improved my skills and have learnt a huge amount since becoming part of the company.
