Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Responsible for Site Service Desk inbox which can be from internal and external customers, reports, invoicing, timesheets, InspHire contracts, maintenance records.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have really enjoyed my programme so far as I have been warmly welcomed into the office helping me feel comfortable to ask questions enhancing my understanding. Also, I have had the opportunity to learn off others in my office giving me a well-rounded base knowledge of the business area.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Learnt how to raise invoices, use InspHire network, telecommunications. I have developed my excel and outlook skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I have dedicated hours to complete my college work which has proved successful as I am predicted a distinction and one of the top students in my class. At work I have tasks that are to be completed on certain days and scheduled time periods to learn off others to widen my future responsibilities.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive 1:1 feedback on my progress from my line manager and appraisals from the office business manager. Balfour Beatty have a social media network called Yammer that I have been featured on to show other offices in our business area any positive work I have done that they believe should be showcased.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
As I have my college course online it is slightly limited to scheduled time we have with our tutor who delivers the content. However, we have scheduled 1:1s that allows me to get individual feedback.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The qualification is Level 3 Business Admin so it is detailed and very specific to my every day work as a business admin. I can take the theory I learn and apply it in my office such as planning and organising, policies and regulations, record and document production, IT modules and develop my understanding on areas I may have less exposure to in my job role such as project management and stakeholder modules.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I have been involved with volunteer work with my office such as the National rust which also promotes being active as admin is a fairly sedentary job. I have been enrolled in an Early Careers Programme with Balfour Beatty where there are face-to-face and online networking events which we are also taught during for example, I travelled to Manchester in the first couple months of my apprenticeship to meet other apprentices and graduates, and this summer and next summer we go to the Lake District for a residential to improve our connections outside our areas of work.
