Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Assisting the commercial team with admin, taking meeting minutes and general activities. Managing Subcontract accounts, making payments to subcontractors. Site walks. Materials take-off lists. Assisting with monthly payment applications.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy the work I do and look to challenge myself, wherever possible, with the goal of fast career progression, which a degree apprenticeship enables you to achieve.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Team work and collaboration. Time-management. Self evaluation. Critical thinking. Working in a professional environment. Communication.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
At the start of the programme I felt that the structure could be improved, this was discussed in my review meeting, resulting in a change of line manager and improved work structure and gaining more responsibility. All parties were helpful, and focused on my development which was great.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Employer is always supportive and I can rely on the team when I need help with tasks.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The lectures offer as much support as possible. However, the training provider majority online learning, which can make communication more difficult, when wanting to ask questions or have an informal discussion about the learning. I would prefer in-person learning, as I find it more engaging.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
At times, some of the topics covered through the university, don't relate to tasks I am completing at work, but overall the learning topics I am covering, will help me progress my career as a quantity surveyor.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Yes, informal social activities, such as 5-a-side football outside of work.
