Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I have design work to do on different projects based on overhead lines in power
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy the work I am given however sometimes the workload can be less than wanted but there is always training and development to be done in these periods, university is good.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learned lots of new CAD software such as Tekla, PLS and MicroStation. I have also developed presentation skills in my work and gotten more confident with presenting in front of a group.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Since joining the programme, it has been improved with a better onboarding process and the programme also allows for placements in different teams to get a better understanding of all works we do.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Support is good, I definitely prefer face to face training instead of procedure reading however If I have any issues there is always someone I can go to for help.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
University has tripartite reviews to keep updated with how far along you are for your professional commitment and ICE which is good although these don't happen as often as they should.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Definitely, some of what I have learnt at university directly correlates to the job I am doing, this makes it much interesting as I can see how it is useful.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes work holds many out of hours activities as well as in work activities as well, there is plenty to get involved with.
