Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
I work as an estate manager for one of our companies largest clients who is disposing of various of their properties across the country. I focus on their London disposals. Daily, I grant various people (landlords, tenants, engineers etc) access to the properties. I also help manage any faults raised in the building to ensure the building is in good condition until it is disposed and no longer our responsibility.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy my program to a large extent. It is a fantastic company that gives room for different ways of learning and different forms of growth. It is a very social company and industry so I have also interacted with and met a lot of people in my short time of being here.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I have learnt a lot about the detail that goes into property management as it is very easy to focus on the larger exterior of buildings but I have seen that a lot of internal and external minute details are needed to be focused on also. My communication and client management skills have also greatly increased.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is well organised and we are kept informed however, I believe information could be given to us sooner than they are currently given, to give us ample time to mentally and physically prepare. However, it is a well structured programme that enables the fostering of knowledge and skills in the various branches of real estate.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer. There is always someone available to help and assist you with issues or concerns you might have. They also create avenues for different levels of the company to voice out preferences, suggestions and room for where improvement might be needed for better employee experience.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
There is a lot of work provided here also. We have quarterly meeting with our Academic Officer, we have easy access to out APC counsellor and I have weekly meetings with my manager also. There is support provided also from previous trainees who have already been in our position and excelled greatly at it.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I believe my qualification helps me perform well in my role as there are links between what I am learning in my qualification and what I am doing in my day to day role. There are links and parallels which enables and fosters more learning. It also makes thinks clearer and more understandable when applying to practical experiences at work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are various extra curricular activities available for us to get involved in at work. The trainees have weekly catch up drinks after work on Thursday, we also have sporting activities and various clubs and groups to join. There have also been various team lunches and social and professional events made available.
