Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

my day to day tasks involve looking after all conferences and events held at Eastwood Hall. From morning briefings, technology set up, breaktimes and lunch times. i am also responsible for communicating with all departments throughout the hotel to ensure everyone is complying to our clients schedules and needs. similarly I communicate with clients before their events to ensure a smooth performance from us
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

i enjoyed communicating with other learners in similar fields and different businesses. i also enjoyed learning new vocabulary to use within my workplace.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

i have developed my communication skills between clients and colleagues, ensuring I gather the appropriate information needed. similarly my understanding of the financial areas of the hotel, from our targets & forecasts.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

all information was present throughout the whole program and help was always obtainable. i did however have a high turn over of trainer meaning i had to build new relationships throughout. i struggled myself to meet some deadlines also but this was due to not having enough time in the workplace to complete these
How much support do you receive from your employer?

support was provided from every department necessary when gathering information however dedicated time for my learning during work hours was limited meaning i completed many hours outside of work and missed deadlines throughout the course. this was due to not having cover for my department and no dedicated workspace
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

my trainers were always happy to help and had all the information i needed to fulfil my apprenticeship even with a high turnover of trainers they were all competent
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

i believe my communication skills having improved the most especially with the way i manage my team and how i communicate with clients
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

we do hold a summer and Christmas party every year for all departments. there is no dedicated extra-curricular activities held by the company

there are lots of room for progression within the company and plenty of opportunity to gain qualifications

understand the general ethos of the compass group and what they stand for, understand the size of the company
