Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My job role involves preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders, as well as assisting with monthly bookkeeping on accounting softwares, and the preparation of management accounts and VAT returns.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the tasks I am required to complete day to day as there are a range of different jobs I can get involved in, and I also enjoy having my team members around me if I need assistance and vice versa.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt a lot during my programme, including how to fully utilise Excel and also I have enhanced my communication skills both with other employees and also clients.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I would say it's well structured as I have a clear path of what I want to achieve during this apprenticeship.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive constant support from my employer and they are always there to help when I am unsure of a task or when I need additional guidance.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive constant support from my training provider as I have an assigned talent coach that I can go to when I need some assistance with my studies, or whether I am stressed about something.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My apprenticeship goes hand in hand with my job role as I can see topics in my studies creep up when preparing statutory accounts, and I am therefore more confident when completing these accounts because of the existing knowledge I have gained.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are plenty of networking opportunities both internally and externally, as well as different committees that I can get involved in.
