Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
i review social media and analyse the social media engagement each week then brain storming what to post. i attended many meeting and events to collect content ideas and further content to create and post with this editing and prep time goes into it. I further get involved in leading events and keeping involved.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy the programme been able to still have learning time with my training and then being able to grow and learn with the experience of the work place is really great. I think this programme has given me a great experience.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
i have learned a range of new skill including professional development in networking and confidence and getting out there further i have learned and developed on taking the lead and how that relates with communicating with not only the internal team but also outside the company that i work with.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
The structure of my programme could be organised better i feel i have learned communication within the work place however the communication better my training and me and then my line manager is not great it takes a while to get a solid reply and even then i feel as if it is as my effort that goes in.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
My employer is not fully connected to the uni so my bit that i work for is really great hey are supportive they understand and they are helping me grow and developed with a range of skills. But on the other hand the uni is a little bit behind in helping me push further in saying that the support from one of the apprenticeship leads has been great and she has helped lots with opportunities.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
I have received little support from my training provider as they have not given me too much information nor have the helped me when i have asked without me asking lots of times or having to go to other people.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
It has broadened my work slightly but for the most part i feel as if i wasn't on the apprenticeship but was still employed there i would be doing the same work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I am a apprentice rep so this means I host an apprenticeship meeting every two months with the co-hort of apprentices to make sure they feel involved and have a extra support system which is also a place that i can gather information for the lead and relay this back as they may feel more comfortable talking to a fellow apprentice.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Newcastle University to a friend?
No
Why?
The uni as a whole isnt the greatest of employers to work for
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Newcastle University?
Look into the uni as a whole first and if you are able to progress and that the team of people you will be with have said good or bad things about the actual uni system. But most of all take advantage of what you can get cause they do offer some great things and it does improve the skills and knowledge you have in life.
