I'm a project delivery leader. I am provided with a project scope from which I create project plans, risk and issue logs and govern projects throughout their project lifecycle within Unipart.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the programme with Arden, the distant learning allows me to be adaptable with my workload to ensure that I can complete my studies whilst maintaining the necessary performance within my job role.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Since starting my apprenticeship, I've learnt a significant amount about project lifecycles and governance academically. Unipart has since given me significant opportunities to implement my learning within the workplace to cement my knowledge, skills and behaviours' from my studies.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme time table was provided to me at the start of the course for its 3 year entirety. The advanced timetable allows me to easily allocate time to my studies without affecting my dad to day responsibilities within my workplace.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer has supported me throughout the entire process, from application through to assigning me the relevant projects to support my academic learning and evidence collection of the KSBs.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider provides extensive support through 1:1 coaching sessions with a dedicated coach. Furthermore, all online self learning is supported by seminars and additional lectures to ensure that any questions are answered.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Since the start of my apprenticeship 2 years ago, I have significantly improved my project management ability. This has been recognised by my peers within the workplace, as a result I have been give more complex and higher risk projects to manage.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are several extra-curricular actives such as the IRSE events which I have attended multiple times throughout the course of my apprenticeship. Access to these networking events has helped me to develop my inter-personal skills as well as providing me insights within the rail industry.

Why?
I have worked for Unipart since I was 16 years old, throughout the 15 years, Unipart has supported me through numerous apprenticeships and developed me beyond what I thought I was capable of. Unipart cares for it's employees and it's reflected by their engagement within the workplace.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unipart?
Set your sites high, within Unipart you can achieve great things if you're will to work hard. Also, challenge the status quo, Unipart's guiding principles ensure that everyone has the opportunity to put forward their ideas to continuously improve as a business. No idea is a bad idea.
