I work as a commercial operator which involves organising the logistics of trade and ensuring that it does actually happen. I speak to counterparts daily to make sure all is in order.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am really enjoying the programme so far. I have really enjoyed working in the corporate environment and have got to know so many great people and expereince so many lovely things i would have had the experience to if i didnt join this company.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed lots of social and professuional skills from working here the last 6 months. My confidence and communication (both written and verbal ) have developed as well due to having to comminicate with external companies on a daily basis.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The support structure in place is very good, there is always someone you can go to with anything and everyone is always willing to help.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have regular catch ups with my manger who can offer support and guideance on any queries i may have. There is also lots of networks available to join across the company who can offer support and guidance with lots of other things.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I recieve lots of suppprt from training provider (corndel), i have monthly 1-2-1s with my PDE and there is workshops as well. I can also book more 1-2-1s with my PDE whenevr i feel like i need further support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The everyday activities reuired for my role are very similar and all link to the activities in the business management degree course. The course has helped devleop my skills and understanding of the tasks i carry out on a day to day basis.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are lots of different networks which you can join which host regular catch up/ social events. This is very good for getting to know new people from other areas of the comapny you wouldnt usually work with.

Why?
I would really reccomend Shell as it offers lots of areas for growth, they company is so big so there is so many areas which you could explore. There are lots of employee network as well which makes the office a really nice place to be
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Shell?
The sense of community is really great and everyone is really welcoming and helpful when you join so just be yourself!!
