Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I turn data into insights for decisions by cleaning, analysing, and visualising data daily. I work closely with internal teams to meet reporting needs. My responsibilities include ensuring accurate data, building dashboards, tracking KPIs, and leading projects like trend analysis and forecasting.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
It gives me the opportunity to learn practical skills while applying them in real work scenarios. I find it rewarding to see how data can influence real business decisions, and I enjoy the mix of learning, problem-solving, and collaboration with different teams.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I’ve gained new skills in data visualisation tools like Tableau and developed my SQL and Excel abilities through hands-on projects. I’ve also improved my problem-solving and communication skills by working with different teams to understand their data needs and present insights clearly. Learning to clean and analyse data efficiently, while following data governance practices, has been a key part of my development so far.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It is well-structured, with a clear balance between on-the-job learning and scheduled training sessions. Support is available when needed, and regular check-ins help keep everything on track.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a strong level of support from my employer. My team is always willing to help with questions or provide guidance on projects, and my manager regularly checks in on my progress and development. I also have access to training resources, mentorship, and opportunities to apply what I’ve learned in real scenarios, which has really helped build my confidence and skills.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive consistent support from my training provider while working towards my qualifications. They offer clear guidance on assignments, provide helpful feedback, and are always available to answer questions. Regular sessions and progress reviews help keep me on track.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It is helpful in improving my performance at work. It gives me a strong foundation in key areas like data analysis, SQL, and data visualisation, which I can directly apply to my day-to-day tasks.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there are several extra-curricular activities available at work. These include social events, and team-building activities. There are also groups for things like wellness and volunteering, which help create a positive work culture.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Pearson to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It’s a supportive and inclusive environment where you’re encouraged to learn and grow. The team is approachable, and there are plenty of opportunities to develop both technical and soft skills. Plus, the culture is really positive, with a good balance between work and social activities.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pearson?
I’d recommend taking time to learn about Pearson’s values and the role you’re applying for, as showing genuine interest goes a long way. Be ready to talk about why you’re passionate about learning and data (if it’s a data role), and highlight any transferable skills, even from school or personal projects. During the interview, be yourself and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
