I oversee all early careers attraction and recruitment activity. This involves working with education providers across the southwest and networking with bridging agencies.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Thoroughly enjoyed the learning journey, excellent level of support form the workplace and great level of support form the training provider.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Learned lots about career guidance, the theory behind career choices, how the education sector is measured on its career provision and the role of bridging agencies. Am now a level 6 qualified career guidance professional and what I have learned is shaping and informing our early careers strategy.

Excellently structured, great online training sessions, lots of support in terms of access to activities and information in the workplace, given the scope I needed to adjust my diary to fit everything in

The workplace has a social club that organises regular activities (bowling nights, pub quizes, a choir group). The company also oversees a charitable trust that holds regular fundraising/volunteering activities such beach cleans, community walks etc. There's also a football team that plays annually against another local employer.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to St Austell Brewery?
Head office roles are limited and sought after - many of the support roles are filled by people with strong hospitality backgrounds. Hospitality experience will really improve your chances of obtaining one of these roles.
