Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As a business consultant degree apprentice within digital transformation, I manage the proof of concept process within my sector. Regularly conduct research to identify and resolve customer problems and have recently started to plan events across the technical community within Fujitsu.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Fujitsu's apprenticeship programme has been a breathe of fresh air. From leading human design thinking sessions for the CDO of Public Sector to now be given the opportunity to work with the customers after joining 6 months ago. The programme is well though and support our development.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Since starting at Fujitsu, I have became proficient utilising tools such as Excel and PowerPoint to convey data in a digestible format. A few months into starting at Fujitsu, I was enrolled on a SCRUM mastery course to gain the professional qualification.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is really well structured especially given the limited numbers in our most recent cohort. As a group, we regularly gather to meet for events and group learning. Apprentice office days are also held monthly and provides a great excuse to go into the office and network.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The team I've joined in Fujitsu is extremely supportive of everything I do, encouraging my participance in new high profile activities and enabling me to grow my network. In the team, I feel like I have mentors all around me, that are all very approachable and helpful.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
At Corndel, all studies are online with weekly learning and around 2 lectures every 10 weeks. We have all been assigned a personal development expert that can address any of our concerns regarding the learning or module challenges. We hold a monthly call to discuss progress and quarterly manager call.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
After completing the first two modules during my business management degree, the content has been very reflective across all aspects of the business. From managing people, understanding business culture to now analysing data and ensuring it's digestible for stakeholders to make data-driven decisions.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
At Fujitsu, we are obligated to voluntary activities to support our local environment, these activities take part of our working week and provide a nice change of scenery every once in a while. Fujitsu also has lots of regional groups and teams of which I've joined a football team and golf community.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Fujitsu to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Fujitsu has been a great place for me and my cohort to develop. It provides invaluable opportunities and outreach across all areas of the business, enabling your network to grow. Everyone I've come across in Fujitsu has been extremely supportive and has a vested interest in the early careers community. They also provide the opportunity to work from home.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Fujitsu?
Fujitsu offer a work experience programme on SpringPod, this sparked the initial interest and enabled me to network with people at Fujitsu before joining. It was also great to talk about this experience during the assessment centre as it shows you've had this company on your radar and understand the companies purpose. Final point is to do your research and be confident.
