Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role links to receivables. I create invoices, take payments over the phone, confirm bacs payments, monitor and chase cash docket submissions, upload j dockets, bill orders that have zeroed, extend special price gaps using another upload process.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy work, we have a good work college balance and are given plenty of time to do our portfolio work and even given study days for exams.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, i have greatly develop skills regarding excel as well as all the other systems we use at the royal mail. I have also developed personal skills such as communication, organisation and adaptability.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I would say quite well, as new apprentices are hired every year there is always someone who has been through what your are currently going through and we are encouraged to help those on lower levels which created a supportive environment.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Plenty of support, we have regular 1 to 1's with our work managers and college tutors to ensure everyone is kept in the loop and speak about how we are coping and if we need extra support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Our training providers provides us with a tutor who we have private meetings with every 6-8 weeks to discuss our progress/concerns and get set new tasks which contribute towards our portfolio. We can email and receive a response pretty quickly if we have any questions aswell.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel that it really helps the more i grew into my role at work the more i began to understand how my college work and portfolio work links closely together.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I believe there are things such as lunch time yoga and also regular fundraising activities such as bake sales in which you can participate in.

Why?
I personally have had a really positive experience working here. I get on really well with my colleges, have a manageable work workload and college workload which allow me to have a good work life balance. My manager and team member are very accommodating and understanding always willing to offer help and set me projects that differ to my role so i can have a broad experience and this has made completing my apprentichip enjoyable
