Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Co-ordinating Training - booking delegates onto training, scheduling dates, booking rooms and refreshments. Co-ordinate apprenticeships - meet with providers on a monthly basis to review learner progress. Support colleagues with the application and onboarding process for apprenticeships. General admin support for training team plus admin support for graduate programme
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

My programme was very enjoyable, I enjoyed that it was independent and self led so I could complete it at my own pace.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Have developed and strengthened my time management and organisation skills. Have developed a high attention to detail. Have learnt a lot about apprenticeships and the early careers sector such as apprenticeship funding rules, different apprenticeship providers and standards, how apprenticeships work and the benefit they deliver. Have developed communication and stakeholder management skills

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme had a clear structure and I knew exactly what I would be learning each month and any work I was expected to complete. I had a dedicated day each week to complete my off the job learning which enabled me to fully focus on my studies.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer was very supportive - they allocated me 1 day a week to complete my off the job learning. The whole team were made aware of this so that I wouldn't be disturbed and could dedicate full focus to my apprenticeship. My line manager also checked in on me weekly regarding my progress and attended all of my reviews with the training provider
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I had monthly sessions with my tutor and I was able to contact her via email/phone or video call whenever I needed support between scheduled sessions
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My apprenticeship allows me to coach apprentices and support them with their learning goals
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are lots of social activities that take place on site as well as team meals

Why?
Positive working culture. Colleagues and Line Managers are friendly and supportive. The company does place a strong emphasis on colleagues completing personal and professional development and provides resources to do this e.g. online learning platform with lots of e-learning modules for colleagues to access at their convenience, internal management training programme, apprenticeships
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unipart?
Be proactive - voice your interests and ask to get involved in projects or tasks, no matter how big or small as this helps with exposure and visibility. Take opportunities to complete training
