Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
As a Customer PMO Manager at Vodafone, I lead the delivery of complex customer-facing programmes and projects. My daily tasks include establishing governance structures, managing risks and issues, producing reports, overseeing change management, and ensuring resource and financial management. I collaborate closely with customer counterparts to enhance project delivery and maintain high customer satisfaction. My role involves continuous improvement of PMO processes, compliance with project controls, and effective stakeholder communication. Key skills include leadership, governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
I have appreciated my journey in the Henley Future Leaders Programme, as it offers ample opportunities for learning and growth through its modules and reading materials. However, I have found the self-directed nature of the programme challenging, particularly in absorbing and applying the content to assignment work. Additionally, the programme lacks adequate support from Henley, which is concerning given that we are full-time employees and some participants have not previously completed higher education. As a Level 7 programme, I expected more structured support. A significant frustration has been the inconsistent responses from various contacts when seeking clarity on queries or concerns, leading to considerable confusion, especially during the first assignment

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Since joining the Henley Future Leaders Programme, I have developed new skills in strategic management, innovation, and change management. The programme has also enhanced my existing skills in project and programme management, communication, and stakeholder engagement. I have gained advanced leadership abilities and improved my capacity for self-reflection and continuous improvement. This structured learning environment has provided valuable insights and practical applications, preparing me for higher leadership roles and enabling me to deliver successful outcomes in my projects and programmes

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
The Henley Future Leaders Programme offers a wealth of opportunities for learning and growth through its modules and reading materials. However, the programmes organization and structure present some challenges. The self-directed nature of the programme can be difficult, particularly when it comes to absorbing and applying the content to assignment work. Additionally, the support from Henley has been lacking, which is concerning given that participants are full-time employees and some have not previously completed higher education. As a Level 7 programme, more structured support was expected. Furthermore, inconsistent responses from various contacts when seeking clarity on queries or concerns have led to considerable confusion, especially during the first assignment.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I personally receive support from my employer and manager. However, I believe my employer was not adequately briefed on the substantial amount of time, work, and effort realistically required for the programme. Given the demanding nature of my role within the business, balancing these responsibilities alongside the programme can be challenging and stressful.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
While I receive support from my employer and manager, the support from the training provider for the Henley Future Leaders Programme has been limited. The programmes self-directed nature requires significant time, work, and effort, which can be challenging to manage alongside a demanding role within the business. Additionally, there has been a lack of structured support from Henley, which is concerning given that some participants have not previously completed higher education. The inconsistent responses from various contacts when seeking clarity on queries or concerns have also led to confusion, particularly during the first assignment. Overall, more comprehensive support from the training provider would be beneficial.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
The Henley Future Leaders Programme has provided valuable opportunities for learning and growth, which have positively impacted my performance as a Customer PMO Manager at Vodafone. The programme has helped me develop new skills in strategic management, innovation, and change management, while also enhancing my existing skills in project and programme management, communication, and stakeholder engagement. These skills are directly applicable to my role and have improved my ability to lead complex projects and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
However, the limited support from the training provider has posed challenges. The self-directed nature of the programme requires significant effort to absorb and apply the content, and the inconsistent responses to queries have led to confusion. Despite these challenges, the knowledge and skills gained from the programme have been beneficial in enhancing my performance and preparing me for higher leadership roles.
