Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
In my role as an L6 Project Management Apprentice and Scrum Master, I support my Agile team by facilitating key ceremonies, helping remove blockers, and ensuring clear communication between the Product Owner and the team. Day‑to‑day, I focus on promoting Agile ways of working, maintaining team organisation, tracking progress, and driving continuous improvement. Alongside delivery responsibilities, I am also developing my project management skills through structured learning, training, and hands‑on experience across projects.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy my programme, as it gives me a great balance between structured learning and real hands‑on experience. Being able to apply what I learn directly into my role as a Scrum Master makes the programme engaging and rewarding. I like the variety of work, the opportunity to develop new skills, and the support I receive from my team and mentors. Overall, the programme keeps me motivated and helps me grow both professionally and personally.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I’ve learnt several new skills and strengthened existing ones throughout my programme. I’ve completed my SAFe Scrum Master and Teams training and certification, which has developed my understanding of Agile ways of working and improved my confidence in facilitating ceremonies. I’ve also built on my communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills through daily practice in my role, helping me operate more effectively as a Scrum Master.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is very well‑structured, with a clear balance between university studies and on‑the‑job learning. We receive a lot of training and support from the Early Careers team, which really helps with my development and makes the programme feel organised and easy to follow. The structure allows me to apply what I learn directly into my role, and the work–study balance complements each other really well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a strong level of support from my employer. The Early Careers team provides regular guidance, training, and check‑ins, and my manager and colleagues are always available to help whenever I need it. There’s a good balance of independence and support, and I feel well backed in both my role and my apprenticeship development.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a good level of support from my training provider when working towards my qualifications. They offer structured guidance, regular check‑ins, and clear resources that help me stay on track with my learning. The support is consistent and easy to access, which makes balancing my studies alongside my role much more manageable.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification helps me perform better in my role because the learning directly links to the skills I use day‑to‑day. The structured guidance, resources, and regular support from my training provider help me build a stronger understanding of project management and Agile practices, which I can apply straight into my work as a Scrum Master. Overall, it gives me more confidence, improves the quality of my work, and supports my ongoing development.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there are plenty of extra‑curricular activities at work. I’m actively involved in the Youth-Committee, where I help plan and host events, support initiatives, and contribute to activities like games sessions, networking events, and wider youth engagement. Being part of the committee also gives me opportunities to develop skills, meet new people, and take part in knowledge‑building sessions that the Youth Committee regularly provides.
