Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As an apprentice, I have joined a DevOps team. The team is big and covers a lot of different areas, so I am currently learning the agile processes for working within a DevOps team to familiarise myself with the different areas. I attend all agile meetings, so I am up to date with what my team is working on.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my program because I received good support from the university towards my modules and studies. Vodafone's youth program is really good, it has introduced me to loads of friendly people who I know work with - grads and apprentices! They do a lot of social events to help get people together.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, I have improved my programming skills already and I am learning module content which applies to my day-to-day role in my team.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The university modules changed the order they were going to be in at the start of the year, so I did have to chase up an updated schedule for the year. But other than that, it is well structured. The modules are linked to the stream I am on, and the set day for study within the week never changes, which I appreciate. As it helps us to organise our week in advance.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I am giving excellent because my line manager has been so supportive towards me. He is very busy himself, but he always makes time for my questions and queries. He helped me settle into the team and takes time to explain processes to me to ensure I understand them.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Blackpool and Flyde College has given excellent support towards helping us work towards our qualification. They offer extra support to read and provide feedback on our assignments before they're due.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The modules are tailored towards our stream, so they fit our roles. They provide good knowledge and insight for topics related to my role. I noticed I was understanding what colleagues were telling me because of the content from the university.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, Vodafone Youth Stream has a lot of social activities for apprentices and grads, and they do them together. They're doing the 'Youth Olympics', which are friendly games of different sports every other week with both apprentices and graduates.
