Overview of the Role
Overall, how would you describe your experience at Vodafone?
The programme has supported my professional development through mentoring, networking opportunities, and ongoing learning alongside my CIMA studies. I have particularly valued the culture at Vodafone, where colleagues are approachable, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping graduates succeed. Overall, the programme has given me a strong foundation for my career and has exceeded my expectations in terms of responsibility, learning, and personal growth.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
- Supported forecasting and reporting activities.
- Assisted with monthly reviews and analysis to support business decision-making.
What I enjoyed most was gaining exposure to how finance supports strategic decision-making and learning how financial information is used to manage large-scale technology and security investments.
Global Cost Transformation Rotation:
- Supported the External Workforce benchmarking project, analysing salary and ADR data across multiple markets.
- Conducted data validation, benchmarking, and reporting activities to provide insights to senior leadership.
- Helped develop automation and AI-driven solutions to improve benchmarking processes and reduce manual effort.
- Prepared presentations and analysis for senior stakeholders, including leadership teams.
What I enjoy most in my current role is the combination of data analysis, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. I particularly enjoy working on projects that use technology and automation to improve processes, as well as presenting insights that help drive business decisions. The opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across different markets and functions has also been one of the most valuable aspects of the role.
The variety of work, level of responsibility, and opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects have made the graduate scheme both challenging and highly rewarding.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
I have been given opportunities to take ownership of pieces of work, collaborate with stakeholders across different functions and markets, and present insights to senior leaders. This level of responsibility has helped me develop both professionally and personally while feeling that my contributions are valued.
The support and trust from my managers and colleagues have been key factors in making me feel included as a member of the team. I have always felt comfortable sharing ideas, asking questions, and contributing to discussions, regardless of my level of experience. Receiving recognition for my work and seeing how my contributions support decision-making has been particularly rewarding.
Overall, the combination of meaningful responsibility, supportive colleagues, and opportunities to make an impact has made me feel highly valued throughout the graduate programme.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
While the package is fair for a graduate programme, there are periods where graduates take on responsibilities and deliver work with significant business impact, which can sometimes exceed what is typically expected of an entry-level role.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
I particularly value the variety of experiences available through the finance graduate scheme, from financial planning and investment reviews to cost transformation, benchmarking, automation, and AI-driven initiatives. The programme has allowed me to build both technical finance expertise and broader business understanding, while also supporting my professional development alongside my CIMA studies.
Overall, the combination of meaningful responsibility, exposure to different business functions, and access to supportive colleagues and mentors has provided an excellent foundation for my long-term career development.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
In my day-to-day roles, I have developed skills in financial analysis, stakeholder management, data analytics, problem-solving, presentation design, and communicating insights to senior audiences. I have also gained experience using tools such as Excel, Power Query, AI-assisted solutions, and benchmarking methodologies to support business decision-making.
One of the most valuable aspects of the programme has been the opportunity to learn through meaningful responsibility. Working on real business challenges and collaborating with colleagues across different functions has accelerated my development and helped me build confidence in applying new skills in a practical environment.
Overall, the combination of structured learning and hands-on experience has made the programme highly effective in supporting my professional growth and preparing me for future roles within finance and beyond.
Experience & Company Culture
How is the support you receive?
I have also valued the support available through the graduate programme, including networking opportunities, development sessions, and access to mentors and buddies who have helped me navigate new roles and understand different career paths within Vodafone.
What stands out most is the willingness of people across the business to share knowledge and offer support whenever needed. While there is already a strong support structure, additional opportunities for graduates to connect with alumni of the programme and gain further insight into potential long-term career paths could be beneficial.
How is your work-life balance?
There are naturally busier periods around project deadlines and key deliverables, but these are generally well managed, and managers are supportive in helping teams balance priorities. The culture encourages wellbeing and promotes open conversations about workload when needed.
Overall, I feel the role has enabled me to grow professionally while maintaining a healthy balance between work and personal commitments.

These efforts help foster a culture of belonging and reflect Vodafone's commitment to creating opportunities for all employees.
Overall, I believe Vodafone sets a strong example in this area and continues to make diversity and inclusion an important part of its culture and values.
