I am an apprentice quantity surveyor, shadowing some of my line managers day to day duties whilst also being provided my own line of work to be able to complete at the same time.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

My programme is very enjoyable i am excited to be able to work and develop at Balfour Beatty and everyday I am learning and understanding more things which are helping me to develop in my job role.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes i am becoming more computer confident using apps such as excel and word in my everyday role, my language and math's skills have also massively developed as I am engaging with people everyday and using costs and numbers in excel.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well structured I am currently attending my online course one day a week and currently learning at a steady pace, i am enjoying the challenge of learning and working at the same time and the lessons are always organised and structured well
How much support do you receive from your employer?

alt of support from my line manager and employees which i directly work with however from my higher colleagues and other employees i receive less support
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

alot of support throughout lessons but also during reviews and meetings with others related to Lsp not just my direct tutor
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

im understanding more and being able to effectively apply my knowledge and understanding into my day to day role and life
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

yes there are activites held outside of work and also during working hours for people to attend such as football games and also interacting with local schools enabling the future to be educated on apprenticeships and the benefits of them

they are a very well known company, offer good support throughout my apprenticeship, they have a good workload and a strong reputation, they are a good company to work with and so i would recommend other people to also work here
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Balfour Beatty?
go with what you are confident with but also go for a challenge, I have only recently joined and taken on the challenge of working here and working full time since leaving college however it is an amazing experience and im very glad ive done it
