Quantity Surveying - Subcontract management, processing subcontractor payments, filling out payment applications, cost value reconcilliations monthly, drafting early warnings and compensation events.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Highly enjoy my programme, my course is good, i have a great group of people around me at work who support me, enjoying my development and doing new things.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very structured, I know when I will finish my current apprenticeship and early careers programme and have a general idea of what will happen once I completed my course.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive plenty of support, my line manager is there to assist with tasks given to me, my team and colleagues I feel I can comfortably ask for help.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My tutor on my course is always offering to assist if I am struggling. There are plenty of channels and platforms I can use to ask for support through my training provider.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Gives me a wider view of what a quantity surveyor does, shows me insights into different functions like operations and procurement which helps with my development.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, the office I am in always has events going on. I recently has fish and chips with colleagues courtesy of the company and took part in a painting evening with some fellow apprentices.

Why?
Everyone is so willing to help and answer questions I may have to make sure I am supported. There are lots of great benefits and I feel like even though I haven't been here long, I have responsibility and can see where my work is being used to help and assist others.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Balfour Beatty?
Make sure to do research! The company is constantly growing with plenty of exciting new projects, so make sure to look into current ventures that may interest you. I would also say make sure to just be yourself and don't make yourself out to be someone you're not.
