As a degree apprentice and first-line manager in a pharmaceutical warehouse, my role involves overseeing a team of operatives to ensure efficient operations and compliance with industry standards. Daily tasks include conducting one-to-one meetings for performance feedback, verifying process confirmations, leading team meetings, and conducting site visits to assess safety and operational effectiveness. Additionally, I monitor key performance indicators, provide training and support for team development, and address any issues that arise to maintain a productive work environment.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, I have learned new managerial skills and developed existing ones throughout my apprenticeship. I have gained valuable experience in team leadership, enhancing my ability to motivate and support my team effectively. Additionally, I have improved my efficiency and accuracy in written communication, particularly in academic work at university, which has helped me articulate operational processes and reports more clearly. Overall, this experience has significantly strengthened my organisational and interpersonal skills, enabling me to perform my role more effectively.

Extremely well organised, we have an extensive developmental plan from the beginning of our apprenticeship, followed throughout.

We are extremely supported throughout the entire apprenticeship, and after the course is completed, with quarterly catch up calls and various events throughout the year.
