Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I send invoices to budget holders for approval and then I post invoices to certain general ledger (Asset, Expense, Revenue) and department codes. I ensure these are paid on time and highlight any discrepancies.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy working for Ryman and also going to college one day I week and hope to complete all my AAT levels here.

I have improved my skills on excel and my confidence has also developed meeting new people throughout the business.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

There is lots of different roles in Ryman with directors and managers in each department with a clear structure so you know who to go to for help with a specific task.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My manager always helps me show new tasks to complete which helps me develop my skills and knowledge within Finance. I have also been able to work in different areas of Finance to understand what each role does.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have meetings often with my college online to go through what we have learnt and check I understand everything. I also get given lots of revision materials to go through to help me revise for exams and get study time during work hours.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

AAT has helped me understand my job role more clearly as I understand when to debit or credit accounts and how to reconcile accounts at year end to check invoices have been paid.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are nights out in the Finance department every quarter where for example we go bowling or to an escape room etc... We also have lots of charity events each month to get involved in like sponsored walks and prize raffles.
