Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Managing the council's assessment centre delivering a range of qualifications to internal and external learners. I also manage the councils coaching and mentoring scheme.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am rally enjoying my programme, it is providing me with the information I need to perform more effedively

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I am both building on my existing coaching skills and gaining additional knowledge and skills as I progress through my apprenticeship.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is extremely well organised and structured and I know exactly what work I have to fulfil to complete the programme, including all the required deadlines etc.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive excellent support from my employer.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The support I receive from my training provider is also excellent, I have an allocated coach who I can contact at any time, the rest of the apprenticeship team are also great and respond to any questions I have very promptly.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The coaching apprenticeship provides me with the additional skills and knowledge regarding coaching that I require in order to develop the in house programme and ensure our coaches are supported and developed appropriately.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Although I do not personally participate in any extra-curricular activities, as the council is such a large organisation there are multiple activities, networking etc within different services. For example our young employees network organises social events.

Barnsley Council is the only ever double award winning council, it is forward thinking, ambitious and encourages it's employees to be innovative. It has a clear vision and plans to make this a reality and is leading the way with such programmes as Health in the High Street and Pathways to Work which have gained national recognition.
