Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
My role involves speaking to other teams in the bank, and helping them to complete internal projects. This involves interactions with other teams inside the bank. My daily tasks involve speaking to other teams, organising project sprints, taking a lead in the project sprints and also planning for project.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I thorougly enjoy the programme. I think it has great structure, I also think the level of support is great.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
While being at the bank, I have upskilled in many areas: including Excel, R, Databricks, Azure and PowerBI. I have also developed my communication skills. More so, I have developed my public speaking skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Very well organised and structured. One day a week, I take a study day to complete my degree part of my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I believe my line manager offers a great deal of support, as well as other colleagues in my team. More so, I believe that the other apprentices in my cohort also offer support as we are completing the same route.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
I would say the support from Kent University could defintley be better. Although I have an apprenticeship supervisor, I would say the support on learning the modules and the module work could defintley be improved.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
My qualification is in Economics, but I work in a data role. Because of this, I see very little links between the degree and my role. Although the degree helps me to gain further knowledge into economics, this is hard to applied into my role, but is good background knowledge.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there are many extra curricular activities. These can range from all different types of sport, to chess and painting. There are many extra curricular activites which provide an envoriment in which is easy to network.

Yes
Why?
I believe the environment is friendly, and one with little pressure. Everyone is willing to help you, no matter how big or small the question is. I also believe that there are many different opportunities in the bank.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Bank of England?
Be yourself and be honest. They are investing in you as a person, not your knowledge! I would also advise to grab every opportunity your given with both hands.
