Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As part of my day to day role, I look after machinery that receives heavy usage, repair it when it breaks and carry out electrical installs and data cable where needed.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Since joining my apprenticeship, I have enjoyed every moment of it. My workplace is a really great place to work, all my colleagues are welcoming and my college really knows their stuff to the point i really do learn something new every week.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Before the apprenticeship, I already had previous knowledge of electrical work however since starting my apprenticeship I have learnt specific details and skills from trade specialists. As my job is not just all install, I have learnt further skills such as coding and fabrication.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
At college the organisation of learning is set out so clearly, you know what is expected of you and what lies ahead. The topics covered are set out in an easy to follow way as well as having access to "Your choice" which has detailed information of what we have covered. At work, likewise I know my role responsibilities and what I need to cover.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Being one of few apprentices in my department I was expecting to not be as supported as if i was in a department that had more apprentices however, anything I need for college I am able to get support for. If i need to carry out specific tasks for my portfolio, I am able to carry this out.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Other than the learning aspect of my course, Choice training provides me with any further help I require. They will always answer questions regarding portfolio jobs, evidence trackers, exam revision and I always happy with my answer.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel as though the physical course will not be majorly significant to my current position, however it will lead me on to carry out higher qualifications that will be vital within my role. The hands on experience gained from the practical side of the course is definitely important.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
The amount of activities and social events at my work is extremely substantial, although I am yet to get involved in many I will definitely start to when I feel more settled in my time management day to day. There are lots of sports teams available and always a social event going on,
